Simulation remains a vital element in the training of navigators and ship handlers but the increasing focus on security, as opposed to safety, may throw up new and interesting applications of the technology. Already we can see cases where simulator training is being applied to aspects of security, as exemplified by MSI's experience, while ever more systems are coming on stream.
