Confusion continues over SOLAS amendments

Safety at Sea International reported in March that there was considerable confusion over the new legislation coming into force on 1 July whereby immersion suits must be provided for every person onboard. One of the concerns highlighted was the fact that some shipowners had 'understood' that once they had bought the full quota of immersion suits they no longer needed any life jackets.
