A notebook computer suited to life at sea has been developed by UK-based GETAC.rnIts B300 is claimed to be resistant to the damaging effects of salt thanks to a special coating that prevents salt fog from making direct contact with the magnesium alloy casing. An airtight mechanical design and sealed I/O ports are said to eliminate the possibility of salt erosion to internal components.rnThe GETAC B300 features a 13.3in TFT XGA screen with optional sunlight-readable LCD display. The display can achieve the highest brightness without over-straining the computer's performance or battery life, the manufacturer says.
