Island nations battle piracy

Four Indian Ocean island states and the French territory of Reunion are reportedly exploring the idea of combining to fight Somali piracy. The Comoros, Mauritius, Madagascar, Seychelles and Reunion are considering forming a joint naval force, the foreign minister of Comoros, Fahmi Said Ibrahim El Maceli, told the Bloomberg news agency. He added that a request has already been made to the EU for funding.
