A tanker suffered serious damage and spilled 2,500 tonnes of crude oil into the sea after a collision in the Singapore Strait. The 105,784dwt Malaysian-flagged tanker, Bunga Kelana 3, and 25,449dwt St Vincent and the Grenadines bulk carrier Waily collided in the traffic separation scheme of the Singapore Strait, about 13km off Changi East at 06.03 local time on 25 May. The Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) of Singapore received a report of the collision seven minutes later. No-one was hurt in the collision and traffic in the strait remainec unaffected, the MPA said.
