摘要

The World Shipping Council (WSC) has said that less than one-third of the containers thought lost at sea are actually going overboard. It issued a survey concluding that just 675 boxes slip off ships per year - against previous estimates of 2,000-10,000 containers.WSC president Chris Koch told SASI that the results show the sector's record on the proper lashing of containers is "far better than what some had previously been led to believe". Koch conceded, however: "This has been more about trying to counter some of the misinformation that has routinely popped up than anything else."
