WMU board approves a vision of the future

The World Maritime University's board of governors has approved plans drawn up by the university to guide its future development. The board, which met on 2 June at the university's headquarters in Malmo, Sweden, approved three plans: a strategic vision for the period up to 2015, a development plan to 2013 and a business plan for this year and next. The development plan includes relocating the university to larger premises in the former harbour master's building, provided by the City of Malmo. The IMO stated in a briefing that the business plan "includes much-improved financial modelling tools to support the effective management of the university's limited resources".
