摘要

An editorial in the December 1982 issue of Safety at Sea focused on an area of LSA design that the magazine felt needed improving: liferaft access. "It is all very well having a liferaft hydrostatically released and automatically inflated, but when a survivor swims up to his potential saviour and finds that he cannot drag himself into it, it loses most of its value as a lifesaving unit," the writer argued. There were already examples of people who had suffered because they were unable to board.
