Ferry and bulker collide off Gibraltar

Spanish casualty investigators are trying to establish how a fast passenger ferry and a bulker collided in the Strait of Gibraltai Acciona Trasmediterranea's ferry Mileniun Dos was in collision with New Glory, owned by Transmar Shipping, about 5nm north of the Spanish north African enclave of Ceuta at about 20.00 local time on 13 January. The ferry, which was struck on its starboard side by the bow of the 48,19 3dwt bulker, sustained a large hole above the waterline.
