Pirates release two hijacked tankers

Two tankers and their crews seized off the coast of Oman at separate times last year have been freed. UAE-owned Royal Grace and its 20 crew members were seized on 2 March 2012, but were spotted on the high seas by EU NAVFOR flagship, the Spanish frigate Mendez Nunez, about 20nm offSomalia on 8 March 2013. The warship received then a message from the master of Royal Grace confirming the ship was now free, said EU NAVFOR, which added that its boarding team was sent to provide food and water, and the crew members were given medical checks.
