Cruise industry adds to safety rules

Two lobby groups for the cruise industry have announced that the sector has added three new safety policies.The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) and the European Cruise Council (ECC) explained that these measures address issues related to: lifejacket stowage on newbuildings; securing of heavy objects aboard ships; and standardising bridge operating procedures within commonly owned and operated fleets.
