Kenyans held in Somalia freed

Two Kenyans working for aid agencies were freed on 5 April after being held since 2011. Reports differ on whether the men were rescued in an action by Kenyan troops against an al-Shabaab convoy or whether the terrorist group had already freed the men. Daniel Wanyoike was working for Shibli Enterprises, contracted to Medecins Sans Frontieres, when he was captured in Afmadow in southern Somalia on 5 October 2011. James Gichuhi was kidnapped on 19 November 2011 in Dadaab, Kenya, while working for Care International.
