CMA CGM shin loses 14 boxes

A warning was sent out to shipping in the English Channel in early January following the loss of 14 containers by the CMA CGM Rossini in strong seas off the French Atlantic coast. The Maritime Prefecture in Brest said that the vessel reported the loss to the French Coastguard Service at 01.30 on 4 January. The vessel, which was bound from the French port of Le Havre to Port Said in Egypt, was in the process of leaving the Ushant Traffic Separation System when the containers were lost in heavy seas with a south westerly wind blowing at an estimated 27kt.
