Cargo ships help rescue new wave of migrants in Med

Two merchant ships helped to rescue about 700 migrants off the coast of Libya in February. Migrants from three rubber dinghies, each containing about 100 people, were brought aboard Malta-flagged container ship MSC Belle, while Panama-flagged LPG carrier Gaz Energy rescued another 100 from a fourth craft. Italian Coast Guard (ICG) patrol vessel GP 904 Nave Fiorillo came to the aid of three more boats, according to Italian news agency ANSA.
