Three rare casualties involving one LNG and two LPG carriers last October and November have raised a red flag that a gas tanker organisation plans to address. On 6 October, LNG tanker Al Oraiq was involved in a collision with Dutch freighter Flinterstar off Zeebrugge, Belgium. It was followed by the stranding of Saehan Mirinae during a voyage on 7 November. Then, on 20 November, two people were seriously injured in an engine room explosion and fire on board Nusa Bintang while it was moored at Pertamina terminal in Sekong, Silegon, northwest Java.
