North recognises top cadet

Christos Mathesis has won North P&I Club's annual award as the top officer cadet graduating from the National Merchant Marine Academy in Hydra, Greece. Presenting the award at a ceremony in December, North's director, Tony Allen, congratulated Mathesis on his achievement in the face of strong competition. "I would also like to commend principal Vassilis Stavropoulos and his colleagues for their hard work and commitment," he added. "They have again produced a group of cadets who are a credit to the academy and to the future of Greek shipping."
