Brian Boxall Hunt; The UK's Institute of Public Care (IPC) estimates that numbers of UK Merchant Navy and fishing fleet seafarers aged over 85 are likely to increase by more than 275% by 2030. With this in mind, it is vital that specialist care providers across the country ensure their care is tailored to meet their specific needs, as most of these former seafarers will have had vastly different life experiences to those in more general nursing care.
