Missing firefighting equipment

A fire hose, including the nozzle, was found missing from a fire cabinet near the main engine port side during a routine check in the engine room. The crew had no idea how long the hose had been missing. It was assumed by the crew that the fire hose was used while carrying out hot work on the main engine in the previous port and it was not put back in the right place after use. Importantly, the responsible officer was not informed when it first went missing. The surrounding area was searched for the missing fire hose and nozzle.
