After a number of false dawns, the Government finally issued its draft bill (Cn 6497) on corporate manslaughter - together with a consultation document - at the end of March. The main reason for introducing a reform of the law has been the difficulty in finding "a very senior individual personally guilty of gross negligence manslaughter before the company itself can be convicted".
