In its recent white paper, choosing Health, the Government issued guidance on how companies can take more responsibility for the health of the nation - the first time a government has ever done so. On the surface, its motivation is to reduce the millions of working days that are lost to illness and injury each year. But health is also becoming a broad vehicle for intervention in all sorts of new ways. So, the Government is encouraging companies to run alcohol awareness and pro-exercise initiatives, issues that arguably stretch the meaning of "health" and blur into lifestyle choices.
