Better-quality data on a potentially cancer-causing gas that affects thousands of homes and properties has been produced by the Health Protection Agency and the British Geological Survey, and sent to local authorities. The Indicative Atlas of Radon in England and Wales contains detailed information for individual properties and gives an overview of radon-affected areas according to one-kilometre squares of the National Grid. This material replaces the existing Radon Atlas of England and Wales (NRPB-W26) and copies of the new atlas have been sent to every local authority in England and Wales.
