Retail sector works hard to reduce risk

I was disappointed to read about the research from the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), which paints a wholly inaccurate picture of the health and safety standards of the retail sector ('Shops slipshod on safety, say solicitors - SHPonline, 3 October). Retail is recognised by both government and enforcers as a low-hazard sector but our members take health and safety compliance incredibly seriously. They invest significant time and resources to protect both their staff and customers.
