Chemicals identification made simple

A website has been launched to help users of chemicals understand the hazards associated with the substances with which they come into contact. The Chemical Hazards Communication Society devised the site to address poor understanding of new chemical label pictograms. provides simple explanations for the pictograms, together with some basic advice on safe handling. Familiar chemical-warning labels on many products used in households and workplaces are changing, as part of the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS).
