摘要

Health and safety experts at an event in Northamptonshire called on landowners to take more care and responsibility when looking after trees on their land.In light of recent fatalities and injuries sustained from falling trees and branches, members of IOSH's Rural Industries Group reminded landowners and managers of the potential risks that failing to look after trees on their land can pose to public safety. The event, held by the Rural Industries Group on 22 March, addressed issues laid out in the guidance released last year by the National Tree Safety Group. It looked at tree safety from a number of perspectives, including the regulator, landowner and local authority.Alan Plom, event organiser for the Group, said: "Every year across the UK members of the public are injured, or, even worse, killed when a tree falls on them.
