摘要

IOSH has spoken out after a council in Ireland was sentenced on 25 October over a fatal fire. A judge fined Wicklow County Council €355,000 and costs of €95,000, at the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, for criminal health and safety violations relating to the death of two firefighters six years ago. Brian Murray and Mark O'Shaughnessy died tackling a blaze at a derelict factory in Bray on 26 September 2007. Wicklow County Council had denied four charges of breaching health and safety laws, but the plea was changed during a trial in June.
