摘要

Women are more likely to lose out on occupational health (OH) services than men, according to research from a YouCov poll. The poll, conducted on behalf of the consultancy Croner, has revealed that 31 per cent of employees surveyed said their employer did not provide OH services, such as counselling and wellbeing programmes. The research revealed the gender gap in OH services after a third of women surveyed said their employers did not offer any OH services at all, while only 28 per cent of men said the same. Of those able to access OH services, 36 per cent stated that information was available, and 32 per cent said counselling was possible. More specific health surveillance targeted at particular OH hazards, such as hearing/lung function tests, were the least common provision, with only 13 per cent of workers saying they benefit from this type of testing.
