Jan Chmiel; formerly chief executive of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment, received the baton from Rob Strange OBE on 1 May and he is relishing the challenge ahead. "From a personal perspective, it is an enormous privilege to be chief executive of IOSH," said Jan. "There is no other organisation that is as well placed as IOSH to deliver a world of work that is safe, healthy and sustainable. "That, to me, is Rob's legacy - leading the organisation through a significant period of growth and change, leaving a well-respected, strong Institution with some 43,000 members, many of who now work internationally." Jan believes the challenge is to look to the future and see how IOSH can "leverage the strength of the profession and its members" to continue in its mission.
