PPE manufacturer honoured for its own impressive safety record at Best Factory Awards 2014

A factory which specialises in making protective equipment for others has scooped a top award for its own exemplary safety record. An engrained health and safety culture at 3M UK's plant in Newton Aycliffe, Co Durham, has seen the factory clock up over two million working hours without a lost time incident. This commendable achievement has now resulted in the site being named winner of the Health and Safety Award, sponsored by IOSH, at the Best Factory Awards 2014. Colin MacLeod, plant manager at 3M Aycliffe, said: "We are both privileged and honoured to receive this prestigious and extremely important award.
