How did you get into health and safety? I saw an advert in the paper for something called the HSE. I did a little bit of digging around to see what they did and thought: "That could be interesting". I applied and after a rigorous application process was fortunate enough to be appointed as a health and safety inspector. I never looked back. What qualifications do you hold? A BA (Hons) in management with accountancy, an NVQ level 5 in health anc safety and a post-graduate diploma in health and safety. Which aspects of your health and safety role do you most enjoy? The people and the debate. Interacting with people and getting them to understand the importance of getting it right can be very satisfying. Probably the most satisfying is getting those on board who really don't see the benefit morally, ethically or financially.
