Event safety experts to share successes at Ministry of Sound

The secret of how one of the UK's most iconic nightclubs balances entertaining revellers and ensuring public safety will be shared with IOSH this month. Members of IOSH's Sports Grounds and Events Croup are holding a conference at London's Ministry of Sound on 14 May to hear how the venue responds to some of the events industry's most dynamic issues. "At Ministry of Sound, noise is necessary. People go there for the experience, to hear loud music and to soak up the atmosphere," said Carl Hagemann, the group's chair. "Finding a balance between providing this sensory experience, and managing the risk the noise poses to both visitors and workers, is essential. Positive health and safety is not about turning the music down, but managing the risk so people can safely enjoy the experience."
