CDM Regulations 2015 - draft industry guidance

The new Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 will come into force on 6 April 2015, subject to Parliamentary approval. On 9 January, HSE published the draft text of L153, Guidance on the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 to replace L144, Managing health and safety in construction. L144 will be abolished and replaced with the new shorter guidance, the aim of which is to encourage greater compliance. In an attempt to make the 2015 regulations more accessible, parts 2 and 3 concerning the various duties of the duty holders on construction projects have been subject to major amendment, whereas part 4 and schedule 2 relating to technical standards and health and safety on construction sites remain essentially unchanged.
