Investigation of the Characteristics of Cloud Condensation Nuclei in the Moscow Region

Results arc presented of a six-month series of measurements of concentration and spectra of cloud condensation nuclei over supersaturation in the Moscow Region (town of Dolgoprudny). Monthly mean nuclei concentrations and values of parameters of nuclei distribution over supersaturations are determined for different months. Seasonal differences are found in atmospheric concentration of the most active nuclei, which indicate differences in amounts of hygroscopic substances within the cloud-active nuclei. The dominating sizes of cloud condensation nuclei are estimated along with their distribution over fractions of the atmospheric aerosol particle sizes.
