For operations efficiency experts, "one person's time instead of two" are sweet words to hear. In today's competitive telecom market, they have to be a mantra for general managers and anyone else charged with cutting costs while enhancing customer service. The secret lies in tearing down the imaginary walls between functional departments that have too often become isolated silos. Telcos can remove the silo mentality by using the increased network visibility of equipment and the power of data integration to empower employees with access to the data they need to do their jobs quicker and more effectively for the good of the entire company. It is important for everyone to realize that there is really only one function within a telecommunications company -- to make sure that every customer's experience is such that they have no reason to leave. Network reliability and performance are key to that, and so is the quality of the customer's contact with the company.
