Forecast International projects that makers of light commercial helicopters will ship 9,532 rotorcraft worth $40.7 billion during the 2020-2029 forecast period. This total includes production of 2,349 piston-powered and 7,183 turbine-powered rotorcraft. Production of light commercial helicopters fell in 2019 after an uncharacteristically good year in 2018. The arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the world economy will lead to a second year of declining production in the segment.
