In this work, organized as a short review, we present some results obtained by applying the Monte Carlo techniques in the Intra-Operative Radiation Therapy (IORT). The electron beams generated by the NOVAC7 IORT accelerator have been simulated using BEAMnrc/EGSnrc Monte Carlo code, the dose distributions and water-to-air stopping power ratios being later calculated with the associated software (DOSXYZnrc and, respectively, SPRRZnrc). The influence of the cylindrical applicators on the energy spectra and angular distributions of the electrons at the phantom surface has also been investigated.
