Rental Equipment Aids Street Project

A century-old contractor and the Pima County Department of Transportation are using two cost-effective and time-slicing approaches to improve the roads near Tucson's newest mall: an innovative design-build process and a trusted construction method―renting equipment. By employing these two approaches on the $21-million project, Sundt Construction Inc. officials expect efforts to design, widen and upgrade the busy road in the Catalina Foothills in just 21 months instead of four or five years.
