Markey Named To Transportation Panel

Fort Collins, CO - Freshman U.S. Rep. Betsy Markey has been appointed to the House panel that will help write the highway and transit bill as her first committee assignment. Markey replaces Rep. Marilyn Musgrave, whom she defeated in the November election. The Fort Collins Democrat was named to the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. Democratic Rep. John Salazar was the sole Coloradan on the panel in the last Congress but had to give up his seat when he was appointed to the Appropriations Committee.
