As the year's end falls short of expectations for the aggregates industry, Luck Stone is looking toward 2008 with cautious optimism, says Rich Wright, president of the Construction Aggregates Division. The company has plenty to look forward to, even though this may be contrary to the national perspective. Wright says the company is predicting 2008 numbers that are flat from where the company stood in 2007. Luck Stone, which is spread across three of the four major metropolitan or major regional areas of Virginia, was hit very hard by the housing "slowdown." "I think (the housing slump) is still going to emerge for at least the first six to eight months of 2008," Wright says. "There is hope that any inventory (of homes) that is there will start to be depleted."
