First Euro 6 engine debut

THE FIRST Euro 6-compliant truck engine was revealed by Mercedes-Benz at its Mannheim engine plant last month. The progressive strangulation of heavy truck engines that started with Euro 1 in 1993 has reached new levels with the announcement of the first production Euro 6 truck engine, from Mercedes-Benz, under its Blue Efficiency Power label. As with their Euro 1 offering, it is available to the market two years before the legislative deadline.
