Driver praised for his actions at scene of M6 vehicle incident

A quick-thinking driver from RHA member Mark Thompson Transport, who had recently undergone Driver First Assist training, was praised by police for potentially saving lives following a three-vehicle incident on the M6, just north of Walsall. When police arrived at the scene of the night-time collision, they found driver Nigel Abbott had used his tractor unit to seal off the lane, protecting the casualties and preventing more vehicles from becoming involved. It is thought his actions helped reduce the severity of the casualties' injuries and prevented the incident from claiming further victims.
