NaVCIS, the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Agency has released its Cargo Crime Update for October and November 2020. Agency figures show that in the month of October there were 439 notifications of cargo crime, with a combined monetary loss of £14,360,199. Fuel was the most stolen commodity. In November theft from a motor vehicle (TFMV) made up 75% of all reported cargo crime. By commodity, by far the biggest loss was that of fuel, at 31%, followed by tobacco at 15%. Alcohol was 6%, the same percentage loss in November as clothes and shoes, and electrical items.
