As a footnote to this remarkable project, the KYTC documented its economic stimulus significance according to the metrics of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). In addition to enhancing the safety and efficiency of motorists, the project generated some 64,000 payroll hours and $1.8 million in wages and employed 347 people in the month of October alone (not counting government employees). Another $1 million was spent for engineering inspection.
