Connecting the dots

At the intersection of four of the most populous counties in Texas, the state is constructing a $1.02 billion highway project to speed travel between Dallas and Fort Worth. The Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Connector is now 30% complete, having broken ground just over a year ago on Feb. 17, 2010. The design for this design-build project is complete. All of the project's $250 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding has been used on the project, sustaining construction jobs.
