Despite some long-standing individual examples such as community buses, local demand-responsive transport, bicycle plans and traffic calming, the potential for (one could say, vital importance of) the packaging of local transport initiatives has only recently begun to be fully realised. The term 'Integrated Local Transport Plans' (ILTPs) has become part of the 'sustainability' lexicon.
