摘要

When gun-toting vigilante Dirty Harry holds his .44 magnum to the head of an armed criminal and asks him 'Do ya feel lucky, punk?' the crim would probably have known the laws of ballistics were against him. He was less likely to have known the derivation of the word 'punk', from the French 'putin' and Spanish 'puta', for 'prostitute'. And while the punk movement was of English derivation, the word did occasionally make it back to France, most notably with Belgian punk Plastic Bertrand's 1977 Euro-hit 'Ca Plane Pour Moi' - loosely translated as That works for me.' Unfortunately, 'work for France' was something that the cripplingly expensive WWII Maginot Line defences didn't do, Apparently their 'Breton brut' forms, pummelled by Hitler as he bypassed them (right), were an influence on Le Corbusier.
