摘要

The mechanism of carsickness of passengers who gaze at an in-vehicle display in a moving car was considered. It was hypothesized that carsickness would be reduced by providing space-stable images on the display screen. Compensation of pitch motion of visual images on the screen and collimation of images were employed to obtain space-stable images. The results of field tests with a passenger car showed that sickness induced under a normal display condition was significantly greater than that during an external view condition. It was found that pitch compensation of images and image collimation were both beneficial in reducing carsickness.
