PROGRAMS IN ACTION

Several communities are experiencing the convenience of fully-commingled recycling. Local businesses in Corning, California now have the opportunity to use a single-stream recycling program. A similar program already is in place for residential customers. Operated by Waste Management (Houston), the collection service is available to all commercial WM customers in Corning, Willows, Orland and Glenn County. Several notable materials accepted by the program include small scrap metal, milk and juice cartons, clean latex paint cans and all plastic containers labeled No. 1 through No. 7.
