The three-decade-old National Recycling Coalition is dead in its current form. While a plan has been offered to keep the organization going, as part of an alliance with Keep America Beautiful (KAB), this possible action, if approved by the NRC membership, will lead to a neutered version of the old coalition. As a founding member and a formerrnchair of its board for three terms, I say NRC should just die. Send it to the compost pile. In its place, an alliance of state recycling organizations may launch a new national organization, and I support this idea.
