Recovered paper prices have softened in recent months, mostly as a result of lower Chinese demand. Also, with some exporters reporting problems from enhanced custom inspections in China, container orders have declined. With more fiber available to domestic mills, U.S. paper and paperboard producers were able to push bale prices down in May and June.
