Basel Action Network (BAN) has garnered the support of 26 media and news outlets in its fight to appeal a ruling that permitted a lawsuit against the environmental watchdog organization to go forward. In an "amicus brief" released in January, a choir of media and news outlets, including Bloomberg, NPR and the Washington Post, officially backed BAN's ongoing legal fight with electronics recycler Intercon Solutions. In a press release, BAN's executive director, Jim Puckett, welcomed the support of "BAN's legal right to speak out on issues of public importance," adding that "nobody should have to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to defend themselves simply for stating substantiated facts."
